You don’t ever have to be afraid again.
Does that sound too good to be true?
God tells us in His Word to “Fear not” over 300 times, and if it weren’t possible, He wouldn’t command us to do so!
But…knowing the promises He has given us to back that command will make fearless living much easier. As a parent or grandparent of teenagers, it’s so important to catch this revelation so you can share it! Teens face so much uncertainty, fear, and insecurity. But if they can be reminded of God’s promises when it comes to their protection, it can offer so much comfort in the challenges they face every day.
If you or your teen have been living in fear of any kind, it’s time to renew your mind. House of Hope Founder Sara Trollinger, says, “Faith in your heart will work even when there is fear or doubt in your mind.”
You are never forgotten or alone. The Lord knows right where you are. It’s time to focus on the TRUTH—it will set you free!
Here are 6 powerful ways God promises to protect you.
Promise #1: He Will Answer When You Call Him
“The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” –Proverbs 18:10
Even people who don’t know God seem to know to cry out to Him in despair. That’s because the Name of Jesus is so powerful that it triumphs over any situation—no matter how dire. Demons flee from it, the attacks of the world cannot remain in the face of it, fear dissipates before it, and darkness is instantly shattered by it.
Whenever you feel afraid, just speak the Name of Jesus and see if things in the atmosphere don’t change.
If you have received Jesus as your personal Savior, you’ve been given the right and authority to use His Name, and He expects you to! (Mark 16:15, 17-18)
Promise #2: He Will Guide You Safely Every Day
“Don’t turn your back on wisdom for she will protect you; love her, and she will guard you.”—Proverbs 4:6, NLT
There are many testimonies of people being delivered safely from impossible situations.
How?
Proverbs 1:20 tells us the secret—wisdom.
Wisdom tells us how to stay safe, avoid danger, and obtain provision. The wisdom of God warns us of any dangerous person, place or situation. That’s powerful!
Where can we find the wisdom of God? First, by spending time in His Word. And second, by simply asking (James 1:5). Those are investments worth making.
Promise #3: You Have Protection From Harm
“Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.”—Psalm 91:3-4, New International Version
Psalm 91 is a treasure trove of promises regarding God’s protection.
The entire Bible is filled with evidence of how much your well-being means to God. He loves you!
He never intended for you to be on your own. No! He has set you up. You have some serious resources of protection at your disposal—fortresses, hiding places, authority, angels, and most importantly—His backing. Wow. Makes fear seem kind of silly, doesn’t it?
But, Psalm 91 also tells us that these powerful protections are for those who “live in the shelter of the Almighty.” That means spending time with Him and making Him first place in your life.
Promise #4: You Will Sleep Peacefully
“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.”—Proverbs 3:24, NIV
Have you lost sleep over your fears?
We all know how important sleep is to our mood and our health. When we’re tired, everything seems to be out of whack.
You don’t have to tolerate disrupted sleep. You have the promise of sweet sleep from God Himself.
Promise #5: He Will Give You a Way Out
“God is faithful…he will also provide a way out.”—1 Corinthians 10:13, NIV
God is a good God!
He promises to give you a way out of temptation and harm.
Romans 10:13 says, “Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” There are countless testimonies of people who escaped life-threatening, impossible situations and ended up completely unharmed with no explanation—except one: They called on the powerful Name of the Lord.
Promise #6: He Will Give You the Victory
“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph.”—2 Corinthians 2:14
Maybe you’re in a rough time right now—a time that has left you tempted to be fearful.
Know this—He will give you the victory. Every. Time. It’s a promise.
Do note, however, we are *not* promised a trouble-free life. But we are promised that we will come out on top every time. It isn’t always the way we like or the timing we’d prefer, but it will always be the best way!
And, just as every other promise we’ve covered, it’s important that we are obeying His Word by loving others, forgiving others, and resisting fear. When we do, we’ll see the victory.
These 6 Powerful Ways God Promises to Protect You are better than any bodyguard or insurance policy. Remember—you are special to God, and so is your teen. Your teenagers need to be reminded of this daily. They are not the part-time focus of His attention. From cover to cover in the Bible, He tells us how much He loves us by promising and providing for our protection.
